Mount Olympus

In Greek mythology, Mt. Olympus was home to the Twelve Gods of the ancient world, and also the set-up for the most popular mythical stories. It is the place where the King of the Gods, Zeus, released his thunderbolts onto humanity, as a sign of anger or wrath.

Nowadays the mountain, which is the tallest one in Greece, is a darling for climbing expeditions. Mt Olympus is located on the border between Macedonia & Thessaly, and boasts for its astonishing nature, its popular slopes, its Christian monuments & its ancient/medieval sites. It is considered a non-technical hike, expect from the summit to the peak of Mytikas.
